Authorities are asking the public to help identify a man found shot to death on a soccer field at a park in northwest Houston earlier this month.

The victim’s body was discovered at Freshmeadow Park in the 4600 block of Campbell about 7 a.m. July 17, police said. He was shot more than once in the chest.

The man is described as Hispanic and between 30 and 40 years old. He was 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed about 230 pounds. He had a neatly trimmed mustache and medium-length black hair. He had a tattoo on his left chest of a red heart with barbed wire across it and flames and a white cross above it. He was wearing a teal-and-white-striped pull-over shirt with a collar and “9’’ sewn onto the sleeve.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
