Two people died in a wreck early this morning on U.S. 59 in north Harris County when a sports utility vehicle slammed into a pole along the freeway.
Matthew Gomez and Nancy Martinez were killed in the single-vehicle crash, which happened on the northbound Eastex Freeway near Little York about 3:15 a.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
No other injuries were reported.
A Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on the freeway when the driver apparently lost control, crashed into the guardrail and then smashed into the pole, deputies said.
